Small-angle neutron scattering has been measured for 97.62Fe-0.23C-0.25Nb-1.90Ni (at.%) steel with and without hydrogen charging. The intensity of the scattering from nanosized NbC is higher for samples with hydrogen than for those without hydrogen.
This study employs time-domain thermoreflectance to spatially profile the thermal conductivity of thermally aged samples, providing a practical method to understand the spatial distribution of α-cristobalite in partially- and fully-devitrified amorphous silica.Graphical abstract (Source: Scripta Materialia)

Abstract Metamagnetic shape memory alloy (MMSMA), in which the martensitic transformation temperature can be controlled by a magnetic field, is a new type of magnetic shape memory material. Graphical abstracts have become standard in many journals, including Acta BIomaterialia, and Scripta Materialia is now moving in this direction too. News: Graphical abstracts will now be made mandatory for Scripta Materialia This initiative has been featured on the White House Office of Science and Technology Policyblog A study was conducted on the reaction process between Fe 2 O 3 and liquid aluminium by intentionally slowing down the reaction process. The reaction sequences during the thermite process were analyzed by using DTA. abstract = "A new approach for the development of medium Mn AHSS is proposed in this work. It exploits a fine scale (~ 100 nm) chemical patterning of Mn in austenite that may be obtained by the austenitisation of a pearlite structure formed under conditions with strong Mn partitioning between ferrite and cementite. abstract = "Strengthening precipitate phases in a Mg-8 wt.
